29TH DECEMBER 1809Gladstones conversion to Home Rule produced the Home Rule Bills of 1886 and 1893, but both were defeated. Gladstone also attemped to get a bill through Parliament to furnish funds to search for the legendary sunken continent of Atlantis.
This bill was also defeated.
